How Much Can You Make Renting Out Your DVC Points?

Disney's Grand Floridian, a Disney Vacation Club resort

If you own Disney Vacation Club points you won't use before they expire, they don't have to go to waste — you can rent them out for cash. The first question every owner asks is the obvious one: how much can you make renting out your DVC points? Here's a straight answer, plus the factors that move your payout up or down.

The short answer: it's a per-point rate

Renting DVC points is priced per point. You're paid a set dollar amount for each point you rent, so your total comes down to two things: your per-point rate and how many points you rent. At our standard rate of $20 per point, a typical 150-point contract is worth about $3,000, and a 300-point contract is $6,000.

Best way to profit from DVC Points

You decide your rate

Here's what sets renting DVC points to us apart: within our advertised rate, the price is up to you. Our standard payout — currently $20 per point — is the most we pay, and it's what most owners rent at.

The flexibility works in one direction: down. If your points are close to expiring and you'd rather move them quickly than lose them, you can choose to accept a little less than the standard rate so we can turn them into a great deal for a renter and get them booked fast. Plenty of owners do exactly that to make sure not a single point goes to waste. That decision is always yours — we never lower your rate for you, and we honor the rate you agree to.

What else affects how much you get

  • How many points you rent. More points, larger payout. We rent current, banked, and borrowed points, so you can put an entire use year to work.

  • Timing. The sooner you list your points, the more booking options they have — which makes them easier to place at the full rate. Points left to the last few weeks of their use year are the ones owners most often choose to discount.

  • Home resort and use year. Some resorts and dates are in higher demand, but once you've agreed your rate, that's what you're paid — no matter how quickly your points get booked.

Renting to a broker vs. renting on your own

You can rent points privately — listing them yourself and finding a renter — but it comes with work and risk: vetting strangers, collecting payment, and the chance a renter backs out after you've made a non-refundable reservation. Renting DVC points to a broker trades a little rate flexibility for certainty:

  • Guaranteed payout — once your rate is agreed, it's locked in, and you're not waiting on a renter to pay.

  • No work — we market the points, screen the guest, and make the reservation.

  • No risk — payment comes from us, not a stranger online, and you never share your Disney account password to get a quote.

How you get paid

Payouts go out by check, PayPal, or Zelle. Once your points are matched to a confirmed booking and the guest completes payment, your money is issued promptly — no chasing anyone. There are no membership fees, listing fees, or hidden charges: the per-point rate you agree to is what you receive.
